What is in Communications Templates?

Step-by-step guide to creating, editing, and managing communication templates in SiCompounding for patients, physicians, or internal use.

Overview

Communication Templates are pre-designed letters, notes, or messages that can be sent to patients, physicians, or other recipients. Templates can be added or modified to standardize communication and improve workflow efficiency.


Navigation Path

  1. Click the FileMaker Pro icon to open FileMaker.
  2. From the left-hand menu, click SiCompounding.
  3. In the main window, select Pharmacy to open the dashboard.
  4. From the blue sidebar, select Settings.
  5. Scroll below Bins/Bags Setup and select Communications → Templates from the dropdown.

Communications Templates Window

The window displays a list of template IDs and types. From here, you can:

  • Add a new template
  • Edit existing templates
  • Search for templates
  • View change logs

Create a New Template

  1. Click + Template.
  2. Enter data in the following sections:

Section 1 – Template Information

  • Template Type (dropdown)
  • Template Name
  • Template Description

Section 2 – Message Content

  • Subject
  • Body

Section 3 – Recipients

  • CC
  • BCC
  1. Click Save after all data is entered.

Searching Templates

  • Use the Search bar in the upper right corner to search by template Title.
  • Press Enter/Return to execute the search.

Template Actions (Gear Icon)

Click the gear (settings) icon at the end of a template row to access:

Edit

  • Opens the Template Communications window.
  • Make necessary changes and click Save.

Change Logs

  • Opens the Record Modification Log.
  • Displays all changes made to templates.
  • Click the X in the upper-right corner to close the log.

Important Notes

The Pharmacy Settings section contains foundational configuration data required before using other areas of SiCompounding. From this section, you can manage:

  • Product settings
  • Facility areas
  • Equipment
  • Workflows
  • Costs and fees
  • Laboratory work
  • COM templates
  • Notifications
  • Integrations
  • Automation and audit logs

Ensure all required data is entered accurately to maintain proper system operation.
