What to Be Aware of When Entering Settings?

Important considerations and step-by-step navigation for configuring Settings in SiCompounding

Overview

The Settings area is where the core behavior of SiCompounding is defined. From high-level configuration to detailed operational controls, Settings govern how the system functions across the pharmacy.

Within Settings you will configure:

  • General system behavior
  • Quality Assurance
  • Financial controls
  • Communication templates, notifications, and alerts
  • Integrations (critical to system interoperability)
  • Automations (a major driver of efficiency)

Because Settings impact every other module, careful and complete configuration is essential. This guide explains how to access Settings and what to be aware of when working within this area.

Accessing Settings

  1. Click the FileMaker Pro icon to open the application.
  2. When FileMaker opens, locate the large menu bar on the left side of the window.
  3. Click SiCompounding (near the top of the menu).
  4. In the next window, click Pharmacy from the icons across the middle of the screen to open the Dashboard.
  5. In the blue sidebar menu on the left, select Settings located at the bottom of the sidebar.

The Settings window will now open.

Settings Menu Bar (Top of Window)

The menu bar at the top of the Settings window provides system-level tools for visibility, auditing, and reporting. Understanding these tools is critical before making or validating configuration changes.

Refresh Settings

  • The Refresh Settings button does more than reset unsaved changes.

  • This should be the first action taken when:

    • You are alerted to a software update
    • A system change has been deployed
    • Behavior appears inconsistent with expected configuration
  • Refreshing ensures you are viewing the most current version of all settings.

Access Logs

  • Clicking Access Logs opens the Record Access Log.

  • This log displays:

    • Timestamp
    • Account
    • IP Address
  • Use this log to audit who accessed the system and when.

  • Click X to close the log window.

Change Logs

  • Clicking Change Logs opens the Record Modifications Log.

  • This log shows:

    • Timestamp
    • Account
    • Modified Field
    • Value Changed (From → To)
    • Area where the change was made
  • This is the primary audit trail for configuration changes.

  • Click X to close the log window.

Reports
