Maintaining a List of Capsule Sizes?

Step-by-step instructions for creating, searching, and maintaining Capsule Size records within SiCompounding.

Overview

The Capsule Sizes section allows the pharmacy to maintain a standardized list of capsule sizes used in compounding and dispensing. This list supports accurate formulation, consistent documentation, and proper prescription setup.

Capsule Sizes are managed within the Codes and Classifications area of Pharmacy Settings.


Accessing Capsule Sizes

Follow the steps below to navigate to the Capsule Sizes setup area.

Step-by-Step Navigation

  1. Click the FileMaker Pro icon to open FileMaker.
  2. When FileMaker opens, locate the large menu bar on the left side of the window.
  3. Click SiCompounding (near the top).
  4. In the next window, several icons appear across the middle of the screen.
  5. Click Pharmacy to open the Dashboard.
  6. From the blue sidebar menu, scroll to the bottom and select Settings.
  7. Under General Settings, select Codes and Classifications.
    • The Code Classifications section allows users to input standardized codes for prescription orders.
  8. From the popup list, select Capsule Sizes.

Viewing and Searching Capsule Sizes

The Capsule Sizes window displays all configured capsule sizes.

Search Capsule Sizes

  • Use the Search bar in the upper-right corner.
  • Enter the capsule size.
  • Press the Enter/Return key to display search results.

Creating a New Capsule Size

  1. In the Capsule Sizes window, click + Size in the upper-left corner.
  2. A new Capsule Size row is created.
  3. Enter the required capsule size information.
  4. Click Save to store the new capsule size.

Editing Capsule Sizes

  1. Locate the capsule size you want to modify.
  2. Select Edit to open the Capsule Size window.
  3. Add or update the capsule size information as needed.
  4. Click Save to apply changes.

Viewing Change Logs

  1. Select Change Logs for the desired capsule size.
  2. The Record Modification Log window opens, displaying a list of changes made to the capsule size.
  3. Click the X in the upper-right corner to close the window.

Pharmacy Settings Overview

The Pharmacy Settings section contains the templates and default configurations for your pharmacy and must be completed before using any other area within SiCompounding.
