How do I Process a Refill?

Overview

Processing a refill in SiCompounding requires locating the original prescription and using the Refills Management and Dispense Log features. Refills can be accessed either through the Prescription module or the Patient module depending on the available information.

Accessing the Prescription for Refill

1. Click the FileMaker Pro icon to open FileMaker.
2. Select SiCompounding from the left menu bar.
3. From the middle icons, click Pharmacy to open the Dashboard.
4. From the blue sidebar menu, you can locate the prescription in one of two ways:

Option 1: Known Rx Number

1. Click Prescriptions from the sidebar.
2. Use the Search bar at the top of the window (to the right of the magnifying glass) and enter the Rx Number.
3. Select the prescription from the search results.

Option 2: Unknown Rx Number

1. Click Patients from the sidebar.
2. In the Search bar, type:
   • First 3 letters of the patient’s first name
   • First 3 letters of the patient’s last name
   • Or use DOB or Phone number
3. Open the Patient Profile window.
4. Select RX Scripts to view a list of the patient’s prescriptions.
5. Locate the prescription and select it.

Processing the Refill

1. In the Prescription window, locate information on available refills.
2. In the Dispense Log area (right side of the window), click + Dispense:
   • If no orders are pending, a new refill order is created, and the available refill count decreases by one.
   • If more than one order is pending, a dialog will appear to:
     • Modify an existing order
     • Create a + New Order
   • If one order is in progress, options in the dialog include:
     • Cancel
     • New Order
     • Go To Order ####

Daily Refill Monitoring

• Click Prescriptions from the sidebar.
• On the top right of the Prescriptions window, locate Refills Management to monitor daily refill activity.
