Why Would I Use the Go Back Button?

Learn how the Go Back button helps you navigate efficiently and access your record history within SiCompounding.

Overview

The < Go Back button is a navigation tool available throughout SiCompounding that allows users to quickly return to previously visited pages. It also provides access to a Record Access History log, enabling users to jump back to earlier records based on timestamps.

This feature is especially useful when reviewing related records, auditing workflows, or navigating complex processes without losing your place.

  1. Click the FileMaker Pro icon to open FileMaker.
  2. When FileMaker opens, locate the large menu bar on the left and click SiCompounding (near the top).
  3. In the main window, click the Pharmacy icon.
  4. The Dashboard is selected by default in the blue sidebar.
  5. At the top of the window, locate and click the < Go Back button.

Using the < Go Back Button

  • The < Go Back button is located in the top-right corner of the window
  • It is available throughout the entire SiCompounding application
  • Clicking the button immediately returns you to the previous page you were viewing

This behavior functions similarly to a browser’s back button, but is optimized for record-based navigation within the system.

Record Access History Log

As part of the < Go Back feature, a page icon is displayed next to the button.

Accessing History

  1. Click the page icon associated with the < Go Back button
  2. The Record Access History log opens

Using the History Log

  • Records are displayed chronologically using timestamps
  • Each row represents a previously accessed location or record
  • To return to a specific record:
    • Click the desired row
  • To exit the history log without navigating:
    • Click the X button

This allows you to “go back in time” to review data without manually searching for it again.

When to Use the < Go Back Button

  • Navigating between patients, orders, prescriptions, or inventory records
  • Reviewing related records during audits or troubleshooting
  • Quickly returning to a prior workflow step
  • Avoiding unnecessary re-searching or re-filtering
